Background
I was born and raised in Sofia, then spent several years in the Netherlands, studying, living and working there. When I moved back to Bulgaria, I started seeing my own city the way a visitor does. I noticed the bars at the bottom of unmarked staircases, the small restaurants that never advertise, the Roman streets under the metro and an easygoing pace I never found anywhere else.
Visit Sofia started as a side project. It turned into a full guide to a city I think is seriously underrated: the places I love, the tips I'd give a friend and the spots that never make the usual tourist lists. Every price is in euros, and every guide gives a straight answer on what to skip.
